Merimbula is located within the South-Eastern NSW Primary Health Network. It is located on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, also known as the Sapphire Coast for its pristine shoreline. Merimbula is located between Melbourne and Sydney, and is a half hour drive from the regional centre of Bega. 

The Sapphire Coast is a high-quality oyster-producing region and is known for its natural resources, National Parks and agriculture. The Bega Valley is a close-knit community dedicated to sustainability, public health and community development.

Popular Activities and Local Attractions

With its wonderful beaches, the Sapphire Coast is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, diving, snorkelling, fishing and whale watching. Ideal for those who have a love for the outdoors, our area has a wealth of National Park land, cycling trails and walking tracks to explore. Sporting and surf clubs offer soccer, tennis, AFL, golf, surf lifesaving and a number of other sports and recreational activities.

The Bega Valley also has a great food culture, with fantastic bars and restaurants as well as festivals such as ‘Eat’ Merimbula and Merimbula Craft Beer Festival. This also includes regular Farmers’ and Artists’ Markets in Merimbula and surrounding towns.

Local Education & Childcare

The Bega Valley has multiple options for childcare, pre-schools, primary schools and high schools available. It is also a 3-hour drive from Canberra, which has a number of Grammar schools with options for boarding.
